8-Hour Initial Memory Care Training

Thank you for partnering with Hospice of the Valley to improve dementia care in Arizona. We are offering free, state-approved memory care training that meets HB2764 requirements.

Who Needs the Initial Memory Care Training?

• All employees and contractors who work with residents living with dementia in assisted living facilities that provide memory care must complete 8 hours of initial memory care training.

• Managers also must complete an additional 4 hours of manager-specific training (including a live Zoom session) for a total of 12 hours.

• New hires must complete their training within 30 days of hire, per AZDHS requirements.

Initial 8- Hour Memory CARE Training Structure:

• 6 hours of online training

• 2-hour in-person skills assessment session
